Hello everyone? I hope you are all well. From the title, you might have guessed what this post is about, but wait, maybe you didn’t, or you might find something unexpected. So, please read this article quickly.
The origin of this article
When I was asked about React a few years ago, my answer was that it was just JavaScript. Yes, it's JavaScript, but beyond that? What exactly can it do? Why is everyone talking about it?
I have been looking for a very basic article or reading about React. But I didn't find any suitable information. Even now, I see many colleagues or friends facing the same problem, so I decided to write some articles about React to help them start their React learning journey. I'll do my best to make these articles very easy to understand, just like my previous Java or CSS articles.
In this article, I will try to give you an overview of what React is. I won’t get into the coding part or complicated technical terms. I will try to keep it simple and summarize it in a few bullet points.
Please share your thoughts in the comment area
Let’s get started…
- React is a JavaScript front-end library created by Meta (formerly Facebook). Yes, it is a library, not a framework, whereas Angular is a framework for creating user interfaces.
- With React, you just need to install it and create your user interface. We will discuss how to use it in the next article, for now just remember that using it requires just installing it with a simple command.
- When we use React, it provides a good mobile app-like experience in our web applications.
- When we create web applications using React, we don’t need to wait for another page to load before clicking any link, button or tab.
- React doesn't require us to reload the page, the data is updated on the page itself without reloading, which means we won't be using any of the
reload()
methods here, although there's no limit to not using it because in the end it's still JavaScript. - Web applications created with React are highly interactive and smooth to use. Furthermore, the transition here is almost instant and we don't need to wait for the new page to load.
- In a traditional website, clicking a link will send a request to the server, and the server will return an HTML page as a response, so we may have some delays and need to wait for the page to load. Whereas in React, we run JavaScript in the browser, so we can run our logic in the browser and thus manipulate what the user sees. It does this through the DOM (actually an HTML structure). That's why we don't need to request an HTML page to display different content to the user.
- The main feature of React is its declarative and component-based development approach. Everything in React is a component. What are React components? A React component is a function-like module that we pass some parameters to and it returns a React element.
- Now the question comes, what is a React element? As we all know, we have elements (p, div, body) in HTML and we use these elements to create the front-end of the application. Now, React elements are used in the same way that we use HTML elements, but these React elements are created by ourselves whereas HTML elements are pre-created.
- Now the question comes again, how to create React elements? To create React elements we use JSX. JSX stands for JavaScript XML. JSX code is basically HTML code in JavaScript. We don't need to use JSX, but it makes writing React applications easier. That’s it for the introduction to JSX, we will discuss JSX in detail in another article.
- Now the most important point is, why we use React, because it uses the SPA approach, the single page application approach. In this approach, no new HTML page is loaded, the server sends the HTML page only once, after which React takes over and controls the application's UI by manipulating the DOM elements on the existing page. The best example of this is the Netflix website, you can visit it and see for yourself that no HTML page is loading.https://www.php.cn/link/b06cbb874ce37177f6dcdf690b5ac490
Finally, I want to say that React is all about building modern, responsive user interfaces.
Thank you for reading. See you soon in another basic article

JavaScript core data types are consistent in browsers and Node.js, but are handled differently from the extra types. 1) The global object is window in the browser and global in Node.js. 2) Node.js' unique Buffer object, used to process binary data. 3) There are also differences in performance and time processing, and the code needs to be adjusted according to the environment.

The main difference between Python and JavaScript is the type system and application scenarios. 1. Python uses dynamic types, suitable for scientific computing and data analysis. 2. JavaScript adopts weak types and is widely used in front-end and full-stack development. The two have their own advantages in asynchronous programming and performance optimization, and should be decided according to project requirements when choosing.

Whether to choose Python or JavaScript depends on the project type: 1) Choose Python for data science and automation tasks; 2) Choose JavaScript for front-end and full-stack development. Python is favored for its powerful library in data processing and automation, while JavaScript is indispensable for its advantages in web interaction and full-stack development.

Python and JavaScript each have their own advantages, and the choice depends on project needs and personal preferences. 1. Python is easy to learn, with concise syntax, suitable for data science and back-end development, but has a slow execution speed. 2. JavaScript is everywhere in front-end development and has strong asynchronous programming capabilities. Node.js makes it suitable for full-stack development, but the syntax may be complex and error-prone.

JavaScript can be used for front-end and back-end development. The front-end enhances the user experience through DOM operations, and the back-end handles server tasks through Node.js. 1. Front-end example: Change the content of the web page text. 2. Backend example: Create a Node.js server.

Choosing Python or JavaScript should be based on career development, learning curve and ecosystem: 1) Career development: Python is suitable for data science and back-end development, while JavaScript is suitable for front-end and full-stack development. 2) Learning curve: Python syntax is concise and suitable for beginners; JavaScript syntax is flexible. 3) Ecosystem: Python has rich scientific computing libraries, and JavaScript has a powerful front-end framework.

mPDF
mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
