For a lot of players, Resurgence has become the most popular mode in Call of Duty: Warzone due to its fast pace and lack of downtime. Following the addition of Black Ops 6's guns to the battle royale, a new smaller map called Area 99 is now an option in the mode.
While Area 99 is a lot more built up than a lot of other Resurgence maps, there are some places that are better to land at than others. While the best place to land depends on whether you're planning to maximise your kills or simply survive, there are some good options. Some are named locations and some aren't, but which are the best to fly down to?
Lower Maintenace
While the massive warehouse area at the south end of Area 99 can be full of loot, it's also too busy sometimes. In such a built-up area, it's often hard to see where everyone is. It's made even worse by the poor sound in the mode, which means you have no idea when someone is near you.
However, if you head down to the far south end of the island, on the outside edge of Maintenance, you'll have a much better time. Not only will you be able to make the most of the loot that fills the warehouse, but you'll also be able to clean up after the fighting closer to the centre of the map.
Loading Bay
Loading Bay is a great mix of loot, kill opportunities, and places to stay safe. You can land on top of the big warehouses, survey what's happened and who's landed, and then get involved in the action. Those warehouses are also full of loot if you're sure it is safe to venture inside. Unlike the other quiet parts of the map, you won't be left without a gun after looting Loading Bay.
You can also then head north to the quiet area near some broken houses in the sand dunes. There won't be much loot here, but you'll be able to regain your composure and think about what is next.
If you want to use Loading Bay as a quieter area and mop up after all the fighting is done, you can land on the cranes and wait for a little while. If you're lucky, you may even find a sniper rifle up there.
Test Site
Sometimes, you're looking for somewhere a little quieter but still not devoid of loot. Heading to the outskirts of a map is also a smart play in Warzone, and Test Site is a good play to do just that in Area 99. Since the location is made up by a collection of smaller buildings, it's easy to hide from other players and loot a few rooms yourself.
You're not going to get the amount of loot you will from other, more built-up locations, but there should be enough for at least the first couple of fights before you head out down the coast to find some more.
Top Of Reactor
While there are places to hide lower down in the tower here, the centre of it is where you want to go if you're aiming for kills right off the bat. It's central to the map, high up, and where a lot of people land. Therefore, you'll be able to get kills nice and easily, provided you can find some useable weapons from the drop.
The top of Reactor is a great place to be if you get your loadouts early and can watch players come into the circle from the outer edges of the map. Since you're up high and there's some curvature to roof, you can shoot other players without them having a good sight of you.
