Hunter is one of those characters in Brotato that is hard to figure out, and can give you quite a lot of headaches before you find an angle to play it. Luckily, it isn’t so difficult to win with it when you know the right tricks.
As with any spud, Hunter can be played in a couple of ways, but this is the one that is the easiest and the fastest for you. The build described works for beating Danger 5 in both Crash Zone and the Abyss.

10 percent Crit Chance: -1 Armor |

20 Range |
Hunter has a few interesting pros and cons. From the get-go, he has a 100 Range, and 1 percent Damage for every ten Range, which means you have 10 percent damage before you’ve fired a single shot. Additionally, Crit Chance modifications are increased by 25 percent. On the downside, he gets a total ban on Harvesting and Max HP modifications are reduced by 33 percent.
The stats you’ll need to focus on with Hunter are:
Since Hunter is a character that benefits from more range, it’s best to use ranged weapons like Crossbows. Melee weapons do benefit from range by covering more area but they do get a higher cooldown as well.
Getting 6x Crossbows turns you into an alien-killing machine because these weapons scale well with Crit Chance. When you crit, the Crossbow pierces enemy units. And if you level up these weapons fast enough or get a Cursed version of the weapon you can pierce even more enemies.
Keep in mind that this piercing crit machine isn’t as effective as using exploding weapons such as Shredder or Rocket Launcher so you might find yourself in a situation where you're clearing enemies slower than expected.
The Range is the obvious one to pick as it gives you a Damage percentage and allows you to cover more ground and kill off-screen enemies. But don’t focus on boosting Range too much. If you get a level-up stat boost of 12 damage Damage, for example, do pick it up since getting 120 range to match that won’t be that easy.
Luck and Speed should be picked up early on. Luck gives better items and more consumables, helping you heal. As you scale it, be sure to pick up any items giving you consumable heal like Weird Food or Lemonade. Speed simply gives you the ability to dodge attacks, and pick up all the materials that are dropped. Bosses can be easily outrun with 25 speed if you think you can’t kill them.
Max HP is reduced for Hunter, but it’s a must-have stat so pick it up here and there. Even better, if you happen to get 3 or 4 Armor on level up make sure to take that too and boost the already available 3 Armor that you get from having six Crossbows.
Last but not least, Attack Speed shouldn’t be forgotten. Depending on the luck of the draw, you can have more or less of it but try not to have less than 50 Attack Speed. Since you won’t be using AOE damage-dealing weapons, you must rely on your fast firing to clear all those waves of enemy aliens.
With the crossbow build that we described you'll still need to be careful when moving around. Hunter's handicap on the Max HP boost will be noticeable as the game progresses because D5 enemies (and especially bosses) mean business when they hit you. This is why getting Speed is essential here.
With 20 Speed you can easily outrun hordes and even the fastest bosses and give yourself that extra second or two to clear the waves with your mighty critical strikes. If you get decent Dodge for your character (30 ) you can run into your enemies to pick up the hard earned material but don't make this your habit. You're still pretty fragile.
When fighting bosses don't try to be near them or go into their faces. Instead, step away and you'll see how your piercing attacks will get to them and start melting down their HP.
