Understanding Static and Relative Positioning in CSS
In CSS, element positioning is a crucial aspect of design and layout. Among the various positioning models available, static and relative positioning are foundational.
Static Positioning
By default, elements are statically positioned. They occupy their position in the document flow as defined by the HTML structure. Static positioning implies that the element is not affected by any top, bottom, left, or right offsets specified in CSS.
Relative Positioning
Relative positioning grants more control over an element's location while preserving its place in the HTML flow. By defining offset values (left, top, etc.), an element can be moved a specified distance relative to its normal position. This adjustment does not affect the position of other elements in the flow.
