Xiaomi Mix Flip steps outside China as Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 competitor
Xiaomi launched the Mix Flip in China as the company's first vertical folding phone, and now, the company is bringing it outside the Chinese market. With a launch price set at €1,299.90 for the 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage variant, the new foldable is slightly cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6with the same configuration.
However, Xiaomi has integrated a much better exterior display on the Mix Flip. This outer display is 4.01-inch in size and covers pretty much the entire area besides the camera lenses. To compare, the Z Flip 6 (256 GB curr. $949.99 on Amazon) has a smaller 3.4-inch cover display and it has large bezel on the top. Another big highlight of Mix Flip's cover screen is that it's a 120 Hz screen.
In comparison, the outer screen of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is a 60 Hz panel. As for the inner display, the Xiaomi Mix Flip has a 6.86-inch LTPO panel with a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, 2912x1224 pixels resolution, and a peak brightness rating of 300 nits. Both the primary and secondary displays have multiple TÜV Rheinland certifications for comfortable viewing.
Under the hood, the Mix Flip packs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It's paired with 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage and 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Xiaomi says that the 3D vapor chamberinside can keep the SoC cool during high loads.
Camera-wise, there's a dual camera setup on the rear, comprising a 50 MP primary sensor and a 50 MP floating telephoto unit. Housed in a centered punch hole cutout of the inner display is a 32 MP selfie shooter. Both the rear cameras are Leica-enhanced.
Other highlights of the Xiaomi Mix Flip include a 4,780 mAh battery, WiFi 7, stereo speakers, and 67W fast charging support. The foldable phone is now available on the official online store. You can learn about the foldable from our in-depth review.
