The Anker Nebula Cosmos 4K SE projector has been launched in the US. The new model leaked earlier this year and is a cheaper alternative to the original Cosmos 4K, launched in 2022.
While the Cosmos 4K SE has the same 3,840 × 2,160 px resolution as its predecessor, it has a hybrid LED and laser light source. This generates up to 1,800 ANSI lumens brightness, lower than the 2,200 ANSI lumens of the original model’s laser light source. One upgrade for the SE is support for Dolby Vision and the NebulaMaster image processing engine for accurate colors. You can throw images up to 200” inches (~508 cm) wide, adjusting them with autofocus and keystone correction tools. The device uses the Google TV OS and offers ports like HDMI 2.1 eARC, USB-A and AUX. On top of this, the SE is also slightly lighter than its predecessor, at 4.5 kg (~9.9 lbs) rather than 4.9 kg (~10.7 lbs).
The Anker Nebula Cosmos 4K SE projector is now available in the US, retailing for $1,299.99. That makes it $700 cheaper than the Nebula Cosmos 4K, which is priced at $1,999.99. Plus, some customers are offered a $200 discount on the product at Amazon, lowering the price to $1,099.99. Whether or when the model could launch in other countries remains to be seen. Anker has also recently launched the Nebula Capsule Air in the US, a Google TV projector claiming it is the smallest on the market.
