How to unlock the new survivors in Risk of Rain 2
As always, the way to unlock the various new items in Seekers of The Storm is a mystery until it’s figured out. Little to nothing is ever explained in Risk of Rain 2, which is part of what makes it so great. However, if you want a little tip in the right direction, this guide will reveal everything.
How to unlock Seeker
The Seeker Survivor is an unlock gifted to you as soon as you begin the Risk of Rain 2: Seekers of The Storm DLC. You should find them instantly in your inventory, so there is no struggle there.
I like them as a playable character; they have great movement using a flight mechanic. Their damage output isn’t bad, and they have a decent area of effect attack to boot. The self-healing aspect makes them a great solo choice.
Seekers Moveset

- Inner Strength – Abilities are enhanced with each Tranquility acquired.

- Soul Spiral – Summon floating orbs that deal 100% damage for a second and gain a temporary barrier when passing through enemies.
- Utility

- Special

How to unlock Chef
Chef is a simple survivor to unlock in Risk of Rain 2: Seekers of The Storm once you know how. He will require three ingredients and a green portal. First, collect the three ingredients:
- Bison Steak
- Cautious Slug
- Infusion
Each of these can be picked up easily throughout a run. I would suggest using the Artifact of Command so that you can choose your items.
Once you are in the game, look for the green pillar on the map. This can spawn as early as the first round, so keep an eye out. Once you have found it, activate it. It will begin draining your coins while you stay close.
The pillar should drain around 200 coins before it spawns a mini-boss. Kill the mini-boss and head through the green portal that then appears.
Head through the green portal, ensuring you have the three ingredients listed. Head to the altar in the middle once you’re in the new area. Here, you must enter the three ingredients to unlock the Chef Survivor in Risk of Rain 2: Seekers of The Storm.
Note: It is also possible to get to this area by killing Aurelionite or finding the portal in the Lunar Bazaar.

- Chefs Kiss – Killing Enemies with 2 or more skills, cooks them up, and drops a healing food item.

- Secondary
- Sear – Scroch nearby enemies for 600% damage. Inflicts burn and glazed enemies take 75% extra damage.
- Utility
- Roll – Charge up the rolling pin and speed forward, dealing 500-800% damage and stunning hit enemies.
- Special
- Glaze – Firing globs of oil deal 7×200% damage and inflict Glaze, slowing and weakening enemies.
How to unlock The False Son
The False Son is the new end-game boss in Risk of Rain 2: Seekers of The Storm. It is a demanding boss to beat, but once you manage it, you get The False Son as a new survivor to play. Actually getting to the boss will require you to fight Aurelionite. He can be found in the Lunar Bazaar or by finding the Golden Altars in stages for 200 gold.
Once you have entered through the portal, defeat Aurelionite to receive the Halcyon seed. Now, head through the green portal, which can be found in the same way it is for Chef. Simply use the new green totems on the stages or use the Lunar Bazaar.
You must defeat the False Son boss with the Halcyon Seed in your inventory to unlock this new survivor in Risk of Rain 2: Seekers of The Storm. I recommend going in with a few friends.
