Intel terminates SVT-HEVC open source video encoder project

News from this site on August 23, as part of the Intel Scalable Video Technology (SVT) program, Intel has been developing SVT-HEVC as a BSD-licensed open source high-performance H.265/HEVC video encoder for Xeon Scalable and optimized for Xeon D processors. However, the SVT-HEVC open source encoder project has recently officially ceased development. SVT-HEVC has not released a new version since 2021. Three weeks ago, SVT-HEVC upstream development ceased and the GitHub repository was archived as read-only with the following notice: Project Termination Intel will no longer maintain the project. Intel has ceased development and contributions to this project, including but not limited to maintenance, bug fixes, new releases, or updates. Intel is no longer accepting patches for this project. If you have an ongoing need to use the project, are interested in developing it independently, or want to maintain patches for the open source software community, please create your own fork of the project.
