According to this site’s news on August 7, CNOOC announced that my country’s first ultra-deep water and ultra-shallow gas field, Lingshui 36-1, was discovered during exploration in the southeastern waters of Hainan Island. The unobstructed flow rate of natural gas in the exploration well test exceeded 10 million cubic meters per day. At present, the newly added proven reserves of Lingshui 36-1 gas field have successfully passed the review and filing by relevant national departments. The proven natural gas geological reserves exceed 100 billion cubic meters. It is the world's first ultra-deep water and ultra-shallow large gas field, marking my country's ultra-deep water and ultra-shallow gas field. Major breakthroughs were made in the exploration of shallow gas reservoirs. CNOOC’s proven natural gas geological reserves in the three basins of Yinggehai, Qiongdongnan and Pearl River Mouth in the northern South China Sea exceed 1 trillion cubic meters in total.
