It looks like Google is planning to shake up the release schedule of its flagship smartphones. For context, while the company has teased flagship smartphones as early as May in some years, it has always waited until October before fully unveiling them, albeit with one exception. Even then, Google presented the Pixel 5 (curr. $154.97 - refurbished on Amazon) on September 30.
As such, the Pixel 9 series was not expected to debut for roughly another three months yet. However, Google has now confirmed that it will host its next hardware launch event in August, a full two months ahead of schedule. Incidentally, this also means that Google will get a jump on the iPhone 16 series, which Apple is anticipated to deliver in September.
As the image and embedded tweet below shows, Google will present new devices on August 13. Additionally, the company's dedicated launch page confirms that the event will commence at 17:00 UTC. Moreover, although neither the launch page nor the associated tweet reveal anything about what devices will debut on August 13, the former's URL contains 'pixel_9_pro'. Based on recent rumours, Google is believed to have developed the following devices in time for its August 13 hardware event:
