With regular and prolonged use of the side buttons on your iPhone, it may stop working properly. This is not common and can happen to almost any iPhone user. However, if the side keys stop working, some functionality will be limited. This includes basic functions such as restarting, locking, unlocking or shutting down the device. We've come up with a very simple solution where you can replace the physical side buttons with virtual Assistive Touch buttons.
With Assistive Touch, you can use separate virtual buttons to run actions you would normally run by pressing/long pressing the power button.
Step 1 – You must go to the Settings page to try this.
Step 2 – After this, turn on the Accessibility feature.
Step 3 – In All Accessibility Features, find and turn on the “Touch” option.
Step 4 – In the Touch page, turn on the Assistive Touch option.
Step 5 – On the next page, switch the “AssistiveTouch” option to “On” mode.
When you turn this feature on, you'll see a circular Assistive Touch button on your iPhone display.
Step 6 – Next, click on “Customize Top Menu” to edit it.
Step 7 – Inside, you will see the current configuration of the Assistive Touch button.
Step 8 – Click to change the individual icons within it.
Step 9 – You can configure the Assistive Touch button according to your needs. There is a range to choose from. Just select one to assign it to the correct menu.
Step 10 – For example, select the “Restart” option.
Step 11 – Click “Done” to assign the restart button.
#After assigning the restart option, you can use Assistive Touch to restart or shut down or lock/unlock your phone.
