According to news from this site on June 4, New York is preparing to pass a law to prohibit social media platforms from showing algorithmic information to children without parental consent. According to the Wall Street Journal, state lawmakers have reached a "preliminary agreement" on a bill that will be voted on later this week.

Last year, state officials including New York Governor Kathy Hochul introduced a bill that would require parents Agree with the algorithm feed. The Stopping Addictive Exploitation of Children (SAFE) Act does not limit the type of content children can view on social media, but they will not be able to view algorithmic feeds without a parent or guardian's permission.

According to reports, the latest version of the bill will also prohibit children from checking in-app notifications at night, but requires parental consent. If the bill passes, New York would become the latest U.S. state to try to limit social media platforms’ access to children through age verification requirements. This website inquired and learned that Utah in the United States passed a law last year requiring parental consent for social media applications, but the measure was later scaled back. California lawmakers have also proposed limiting children’s access to algorithmic sources.

mPDF

mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
