Is it difficult to constrain standard steel bars in Revit? How to do it? This article will introduce in detail the specific operation method of constraining standard steel bars in Revit and help you solve the problems encountered in steel bar restraint.
Place standard rebar shapes and snap to adjacent standard rebars. Constraints are retained when placing, moving, dragging, or copying and pasting rebar.
Click the [Structure] tab [Reinforcement] panel (Rebar).
Click [Modify | Place Rebar] tab [Rebar Constraints] panel (Constrained Placement).
In the [Rebar Shape Selector] or [Rebar Shape Browser] on the options bar, select the standard rebar shape. Stirrup and stirrup bars cannot be restrained when placed.
Place the steel bars in the concrete body. The rebar will snap and attach to other standard rebar. Note that standard bars placed parallel in the view will also snap to other parallel standard bars.
Note: Constrained placement is only available for placement of individual bars.
After placing the rebar, you can move, cut, paste, or change the rebar type that previously restrained the new rebar. The restraint bars move and adjust accordingly, as shown in the following example.
If you want to remove placement constraints, select a constrained rebar and click Modify | Structural Rebar tab Rebar Constraints panel (Constrained Placement) .
