Fusion-io在会上表示,每年他们都会展示一套IOPS性能达到100万的系统,但每一次都会在体积上实现飞跃。2008年,他们和IBM合作的Project Quicksilver要用一柜机架实现百万IOPS,2009年和惠普的ProLiant团队合作已经只需要一台服务器。而今,只要一块PCI-E固态存储卡即可实现这样的性能。
ioDrive Octal使用PCI-E 2.0 x16接口,双槽设计,最多可插接8块ioMemory存储模块。如果插满SLC颗粒模块,可实现2.56TB容量,64KB读取速度6.2GB/s,写入6.0GB/s,512Byte访问延迟26微秒。而如果使用MLC颗粒模块,最高容量为5.7TB,读取速度6.2GB/s,写入4.4GB/s,延迟30微秒。
当然,拥有这样疯狂性能系统的造价已非普通个人甚至企业所能承受。与Fusion-io共同展示该系统性能的客户几乎都是官方科研机构,比如美国洛斯阿拉莫斯国家实验室就在其用于气候模拟的超级计算机中尝试了该固态存储卡,实测性能比HDD硬盘集群方案提升了500%。而另一家保密的美国航天科研机构也测试了应用该技术进行远程数据传输。基于ioDrive Octal和10GB/s高速网络,他们测试将数据从伊利诺伊州传输至马里兰州,再传至新奥尔良会场,实测传输率4000MB/s。
