● Bootstrap是美国Twitter公司的设计师Mark Otto和Jacob Thornton合作基于HTML、CSS、JavaScript 开发的简洁、直观、强悍的前端开发框架，使得 Web 开发更加快捷。Bootstrap提供了优雅的HTML和CSS规范，它即是由动态CSS语言Less写成。

Bootstrap一经推出后颇受欢迎，一直是GitHub上的热门开源项目，包括NASA的MSNBC（微软全国广播公司）的Breaking News都使用了该项目。国内一些移动开发者较为熟悉的框架，如WeX5前端开源框架等，也是基于Bootstrap源码进行性能优化而来。

● css即层叠样式表(英文全称：Cascading Style Sheets)是一种用来表现HTML（标准通用标记语言的一个应用）或XML（标准通用标记语言的一个子集）等文件样式的计算机语言。CSS不仅可以静态地修饰网页，还可以配合各种脚本语言动态地对网页各元素进行格式化。

CSS 能够对网页中元素位置的排版进行像素级精确控制，支持几乎所有的字体字号样式，拥有对网页对象和模型样式编辑的能力。

总得来说，Bootstrap是一种UI，用于前端布局的框架，属于css框架，而不是javascript框架，但是它本身也使用javascript来完善Bootstrap框架的视觉效果。
