Initiating the Necromancer's Moon Quest

To begin, complete these Arcane University quests:

• A Mage's Staff
• Ulterior Motives
• Vahtacen's Secret

Then, discuss your next steps with Raminus Polus.

Exposing the Necromancers

Your choice of location doesn't matter. While Raminus suggests Dark Fissure Cave, Fort Istirius, Fort Linchal, and Wendelbek are equally suitable. You have three options:

1. Observe the ritual.
2. Steal a note from a Worm Anchorite.
3. Perform the ritual yourself.

Witnessing the Ritual

To witness or perform the ritual, you must wait for the correct date. The ritual occurs every eight days (based on your in-game "Days Passed" count: 1st, 9th, 17th, etc.) and lasts 24 hours.

Stealing from the Worm Anchorite

For a quicker approach, find the Worm Anchorite in Dark Fissure Cave. He possesses a Handwritten Note; acquire it by any means (killing him or pickpocketing).

Completing the Necromancer's Moon

Report your findings to Raminus Polus to conclude the quest. This unlocks advancement to Magician rank. While the Magician rank offers no immediate benefits, you'll now receive assignments from Archmage Traven instead of Raminus.
