Huawei has announced the MatePad 12 X, which is joining the company's tablet portfolio alongside the MatePad Pro 12.2. The 12 X, in particular, appears to be targeting younger people, with three vibrant yet classy color options. This new pad also features a slim and lightweight design.
As the company describes, the MatePad 12 X has been slimmed down to 5.9 mm in terms of thickness, and it weighs only 555 grams. This light and slimdesign will make staying productive easier while on the go. Huawei also claims that the new tablet will allow you to maximize your creative potential.
The MatePad 12 X comes with a 12-inch PaperMatte display, which features a 2.8K resolution, 144 Hz adaptive refresh rate, a peak brightness rating of 1000 nits, and a wide P3 color gamut. Paired with the M-Pencil that features NearLink and the GoPaint app, the tablet is said to deliver a paper-like writing and drawing experience.
Besides that, the Huawei MatePad 12 X aims to deliver a PC-level productivityexperience. The company has brought support for WPS Office, which has a similar layout and interface as the document handling programs on laptops. There's support for a Smart Magnetic Keyboard as well.
Other highlights of the tablet include a 10,100 mAh battery that aims to offer 14 hours of local video playback, a six-speaker audio setup, an all-metal build, and 66W fast charging support (Anker 100W Gan III charger curr. $49.99 on Amazon). The Huawei MatePad 12 X is expected to be available in the EU in October with a starting price of €649 (about $722).
