Fort Ontus

Your destination is Fort Ontus, located northeast of Kvatch and southwest of Chorrol. Previously inaccessible, Fort Ontus is now open for you to explore.

Inside, you'll find several mages who will eventually turn hostile. However, your immediate objective is Caranya. After a brief conversation, prepare for battle.

The Caranya Encounter

The fight against Caranya presents a unique challenge:

• Close Proximity: The fight begins right next to Caranya, advantageous for melee combatants.
• Weak Armor: Caranya's light armor makes her vulnerable to melee attacks.
• Frost Spells: Her proximity also means her Frost spells are highly effective. High magic resistance is recommended.
• Summoning: Caranya summons Fade Wraiths, emphasizing the need for swift, aggressive attacks.

After defeating Caranya and retrieving the Necromancer's Amulet, the remaining mages in Fort Ontus become hostile. These necromancers pose a threat, but are manageable. Once you've dealt with them (or escaped), return to Traven and present the amulet.

Quest Completion

The next quest, "Ambush," will unlock depending on your progress:

1. If you've already delivered the Bloodworm's Helm, "Ambush" begins, moving the Mages Guild questline towards its climax.
2. Otherwise, complete "The Bloodworm Helm" quest first to unlock "Ambush."
