美國證券交易委員會已發布撤銷 ISE 選項規則變更提議的通知。具體來說，納斯達克已撤回允許交易所列出和交易代表持有比特幣信託權益的單位選擇權的請求。

今年五月，納斯達克美國期權副總裁格雷格·法拉利（Greg Ferrari）致信委員會，概述了期權請求應獲得批准的原因。法拉利表示，根據目前的交易水平，這些比特幣產品將滿足期權上市的初始上市標準，因為它們被廣泛持有且交易活躍。實際上，它們應該像股票選擇權一樣被對待。

左翼倡導團體 Better Markets 反駁了這項要求，因為他們擔心這些選擇權可能「讓散戶投資者面臨巨大的風險」。 Better Markets 在信中聲稱，「（散戶和專業投資者）不受限制地獲取期權，加上社交媒體和 Reddit 等論壇上信息流的激增，為泡沫的快速形成創造了現代條件。」

上個月，委員會表示希望有更多時間考慮該提案，從而推遲了決定。納斯達克於8月13日撤回了請求。

雖然納斯達克決定推遲尋求比特幣信託選擇權，但這可能只是輕微的延遲而不是失敗。由於總統選舉將於今年11 月舉行，新的政策制定者小圈子很可能會接管SEC，因為前總統川普明確支持加密貨幣，而副總統哈里斯目前正試圖修復拜登政府造成的損害關於數位資產行業。
