Linux does not support Chinese by default under tty. There seems to be a kernel patch to achieve Chinese support, but it is not recommended to use it on the server.
It is recommended to change the locale to English or use ssh to log in to the server.

Is it missing Chinese fonts? The remote server does not need to care about Chinese and English.
@Guangyu How come it is not supported? I have used Chinese terminals on both Ubuntu and Centos.
