Using MBR partition table, the number of primary partitions + extended partitions is up to 4, and the maximum number of extended partitions is 1.
Logical partitions are built on extended partitions. No matter how many logical partitions are divided, they are considered one partition.
Regarding your question, when there is only one logical partition, of course it will occupy a "quota", but if you continue to divide it, you will find that the occupied "quota" will no longer increase.
