This depends on your future development and interests. In fact, the scope of IT and the Internet is too broad, and it includes a variety of positions. If you have a foundation in programming, it may be easier to get started with testing. There are more girls doing testing.
Just like you said, start in the industry first and then discover other interests after exposure. Or if you want to develop in other areas, you can focus on learning and accumulation and then complete the job transfer, etc. It may be relatively easier.
In fact, I personally feel that interaction design and operation are related to personal characteristics, and are not suitable for everyone.
Software development is indeed hard work. If you think you can, you can try it.

You can consider the front-end direction~

Getting started with html and css is not complicated. It is more important to have a thorough understanding of js. Take the time to take a look at jquery.

Or develop in the direction of art.

Or just learn Android or iOS directly.

Last sentence: It’s never too late to realize what you’re going to do now~

The Internet industry is not just about making websites and apps.
Since the question subject already has experience and programming foundation in the electronic engineering industry, it is recommended to consider companies and positions related to consumer electronics and intelligent hardware.

The situation is almost the same as the original poster. I studied electronics but didn’t love it at all. However, I joined a club during the summer vacation of my sophomore year and started working on the road of building bricks. -
The department I first joined was in the front-end department. Since I had some basic knowledge of C language, I imitated the school’s official website after just half a month of studying in the club. At that time, few students around me knew about web development, so I was extremely confident. (Master, please don’t spray =. =), then I started jquery, native javascript, php, and then messed around with javascript in various ways. I skipped a lot of classes, and also moved many courses that were originally taken in my sophomore and junior years to my senior year. to the point where I am still taking various supplementary professional courses.
Of course, as a friend upstairs said, it’s never too late to realize what you’re going to do now~ (ps: The front-end army welcomes you~)

Girls don’t want to do development. There are so many positions in product, channel, business and market. Why do they have to do development?

Well, I’m not on the Internet, but I still want to answer. I am a girl, majoring in electronics. The courses also include C language, data structures, and other programming-related topics. After taking the postgraduate entrance examination for information security, I switched to software, and the direction is still embedded and operating systems. And now, when doing industrial automation software development, we mainly use C and C++, and sometimes other things are also used. If you don’t know how, you can learn it now. So, if you want to develop, you need to have a programming foundation, learn quickly, and keep a love of learning. You might as well learn more about the specific aspects of development and then circle a range based on your interests and expertise. Don’t make the range too small. Get started in the field first.
The company I work for is very capable in terms of development and will not discriminate against girls. If the company hires you, it means that at least on the surface it does not discriminate against women. As for whether you will encounter individual people who discriminate against girls, this is true everywhere. You may encounter it, just let your ability speak for itself.
    Come on~

My girl and I major in the same major. I study semiconductors and integrated circuits. But I'm not interested in my major, but it's too late to change my major, so I just want to graduate. Now I am engaged in website and APP development, doing both front and back ends.
The Internet industry is a relatively popular industry at the moment. Despite this, I actually think hardware will definitely become popular in the next few years. After all, the threshold for the software industry is still not high.
As for why Internet companies don’t like girls when recruiting developers, the reason is very simple. Do you think you can often work overtime and stay up until 12 o’clock or even later? Testing is indeed a good entry point, or front-end development is also good. If you prefer to write code and have good aesthetics, you can do front-end

Let’s start with the front-end, UI, design, etc.
Never start with testing, unless you are a large international company. The blood and tears experience of those who have been there~
