Is the new php file a folder? You cannot enter code directly into the folder. It must at least be a text document.

Right-click to create a new file, ending with .php instead of creating a new folder. Hope you enjoy studying!

PHP executes PHP files. Not all files with .php can be executed. It’s not a folder
