What is SPM and how to understand SPM?
SPM is a set of solutions provided by Taobao Community E-commerce Business (xTao) for external partners (outside sites) to track and guide transaction effect data. The following is an SPM example that tracks the transaction effect data of clicks to the product details page:

SPM code: the code used to track the position of the page module. The standard spm code consists of 4 segments and adopts the format of a.b.c.d (it is recommended to use all numbers), among which,
a represents the site type. For xTao partners (external sites), a is a fixed value, a=2014
b represents the external site ID (that is, the TOP appkey used by the external site), such as the one used by your site TOP appkey=123456789, then b=123456789
c represents the channel ID on site b, such as a group purchase channel on an external site, a shopping channel, a trial channel, etc.
d represents the page on channel c ID, such as a group purchase details page, a product details page, a trial details page, etc.
The complete four-digit SPM code can identify a specific page of a channel in a website.
For example, the appkey of an external station in xTao partner (a=2014) is 123456789 (b=123456789), the channel ID is 1 (c=1), and the page ID is 2 (d=2), then spm=2014.123456789 .1.2, uniquely identifies page 2 on channel 1 of the external site 123456789. The link clicked from this page should carry the parameter string spm=2014.123456789.1.2. In this way, through this encoding, we can uniquely locate a URL that was generated by clicking on which specific page in the external site.
Note: The total four-digit length of spm is 32 digits, and special characters such as % and & are not supported. Please use English and numbers as much as possible.
What are the application scenarios of SPM?
Because spm encoding itself is hierarchical, we can:
By counting part a of spm separately, we can know the access and clicks of a certain type of site, and Follow-up guidance and transaction status.
By separately counting the a.b parts of spm, we can use it to evaluate the access and click effects of a certain site, as well as subsequent guidance and transactions.
By separately counting the a.b.c part of spm, we can use it to evaluate the access and click effects of a channel on a certain site, as well as subsequent guidance and transactions.
By separately counting the a.b.c.d part of spm, we can use it to evaluate the click effect of a specific page on a channel, as well as subsequent guidance and transactions.
How to view SPM performance indicators and data?
The effect statistical indicators that can be obtained based on SPM:
PV: PV that is directed to the baby details page by specifying the spm code
UV: Directed to the baby details by specifying the spm code UV
of the pageNumber of Alipay transactions: The number of Alipay transactions for same-store products on the same day by users who were directed to the product details page through the specified spm code
