HomeWeb Front-endJS TutorialUsage examples of animate() method in jQuery_jquery

The example in this article describes the usage of the animate() method in jQuery. Share it with everyone for your reference. The specific analysis is as follows:

This method is used to create a custom animation and can specify the animation execution duration and erasure effect. A callback function can also be triggered after the animation is completed.

Usage of animate() method:

Method 1:

Define animation termination style properties in the form of "property name/value" objects. For example:

Copy code The code is as follows:
$("div").animate({width:"1000px"})

The above code can adjust the div from its original width to 1000px. You can also use multiple sets of "property name/value" objects at once. For example:

Copy code The code is as follows:
$("div").animate( {width: "1000px",fontSize: 20})

The above code can adjust the div from the original width to 1000px and the original font size to 20px. You need to pay special attention to the following three points:

1. If the size has no unit, the default unit is px.
2. The attribute value needs to be wrapped in double quotes. If the attribute value is a number, it can be omitted.
3. Attributes like font-szie or background-color need to remove the middle horizontal line, and the first letter of the second word must be capitalized.

The

animate() method can clearly specify the duration of the animation effect. If not specified, the default value normal will be used. For example:

Copy code The code is as follows:
$("div").animate( {width: "1000px",fontSize: 20},2000)

The above code stipulates that the animation effect will be completed after 2000 milliseconds (2 seconds).
The callback function can be called after the animation execution is completed. For example:

Copy code The code is as follows:
$("div").animate( {width: "1000px"},5000 ,function(){alert("Adjustment completed")})

The above code can trigger the callback function after the animation is completed, so a prompt box will pop up.
Example code:

Copy code The code is as follows:

Script Home

Little Ant

Method 2:
In the first method, curly braces {} are used only when defining animation termination style attributes. The following, such as animation speed, callback function, etc., are exposed, and they are separated by commas. In the second method we will introduce, speed, callback function, queue, etc. must be placed in curly brackets {}.
For example:

Copy code The code is as follows:
$("div").animate( {width: "1000px"}, { queue:false, duration:1000,complete:function(){alert("ok")}})

The queue parameter can specify whether the animation is added to the animation queue for execution. If it enters the animation queue, it will be executed in order, that is, after the first animation is completed, the second animation in the queue will be executed, and so on. If the queue parameter value is true, the animation will be added to the queue for execution, otherwise it will not be added to the queue.
The duration parameter defines the duration of the animation.
The complete parameter defines the callback function of the animation.
Example code:

Copy code The code is as follows:

Script Home

Welcome to the script home

You can compare the execution effects of joining the animation queue and not joining the animation queue.

I hope this article will be helpful to everyone’s jQuery programming.

Python vs. JavaScript: The Learning Curve and Ease of UsePython vs. JavaScript: The Learning Curve and Ease of UseApr 16, 2025 am 12:12 AM

Python is more suitable for beginners, with a smooth learning curve and concise syntax; JavaScript is suitable for front-end development, with a steep learning curve and flexible syntax. 1. Python syntax is intuitive and suitable for data science and back-end development. 2. JavaScript is flexible and widely used in front-end and server-side programming.

Python vs. JavaScript: Community, Libraries, and ResourcesPython vs. JavaScript: Community, Libraries, and ResourcesApr 15, 2025 am 12:16 AM

Python and JavaScript have their own advantages and disadvantages in terms of community, libraries and resources. 1) The Python community is friendly and suitable for beginners, but the front-end development resources are not as rich as JavaScript. 2) Python is powerful in data science and machine learning libraries, while JavaScript is better in front-end development libraries and frameworks. 3) Both have rich learning resources, but Python is suitable for starting with official documents, while JavaScript is better with MDNWebDocs. The choice should be based on project needs and personal interests.

From C/C to JavaScript: How It All WorksFrom C/C to JavaScript: How It All WorksApr 14, 2025 am 12:05 AM

The shift from C/C to JavaScript requires adapting to dynamic typing, garbage collection and asynchronous programming. 1) C/C is a statically typed language that requires manual memory management, while JavaScript is dynamically typed and garbage collection is automatically processed. 2) C/C needs to be compiled into machine code, while JavaScript is an interpreted language. 3) JavaScript introduces concepts such as closures, prototype chains and Promise, which enhances flexibility and asynchronous programming capabilities.

JavaScript Engines: Comparing ImplementationsJavaScript Engines: Comparing ImplementationsApr 13, 2025 am 12:05 AM

Different JavaScript engines have different effects when parsing and executing JavaScript code, because the implementation principles and optimization strategies of each engine differ. 1. Lexical analysis: convert source code into lexical unit. 2. Grammar analysis: Generate an abstract syntax tree. 3. Optimization and compilation: Generate machine code through the JIT compiler. 4. Execute: Run the machine code. V8 engine optimizes through instant compilation and hidden class, SpiderMonkey uses a type inference system, resulting in different performance performance on the same code.

Beyond the Browser: JavaScript in the Real WorldBeyond the Browser: JavaScript in the Real WorldApr 12, 2025 am 12:06 AM

JavaScript's applications in the real world include server-side programming, mobile application development and Internet of Things control: 1. Server-side programming is realized through Node.js, suitable for high concurrent request processing. 2. Mobile application development is carried out through ReactNative and supports cross-platform deployment. 3. Used for IoT device control through Johnny-Five library, suitable for hardware interaction.

JavaScript: Exploring the Versatility of a Web LanguageJavaScript: Exploring the Versatility of a Web LanguageApr 11, 2025 am 12:01 AM

JavaScript is the core language of modern web development and is widely used for its diversity and flexibility. 1) Front-end development: build dynamic web pages and single-page applications through DOM operations and modern frameworks (such as React, Vue.js, Angular). 2) Server-side development: Node.js uses a non-blocking I/O model to handle high concurrency and real-time applications. 3) Mobile and desktop application development: cross-platform development is realized through ReactNative and Electron to improve development efficiency.
