On May 9, 2024, NIO’s 500,000th mass-produced vehicle rolled off the assembly line at NIO’s second factory located in Xinqiao Intelligent Electric Vehicle Industrial Park in Hefei, Anhui. NIO’s 500,000th mass-produced model is the new ES8.

At the offline event, NIO founder and chairman Li Bin revealed that on May 15, NIO will officially launch its second brand - Ledao . Its first car, the L60, will also be officially unveiled.

The brand name of Ledao means "Every road with family is Ledao". Its products will be oriented to the mainstream family market, aiming to provide home users with a better brand and product experience.

In addition to Ledo, NIO is also developing a second small electric car code-named "Firefly", positioned as a small electric car for urban driving, and the price is expected to be less than 200,000 yuan. In addition, both Letao and Firefly support NIO’s power swap stations.

According to NIO’s plan, both Ledo and Firefly are positioned as global brands, and the first model of “Firefly” will be unveiled in 2025.
