The Android camp has never been able to compete with the iPhone in terms of average mobile phone prices, so it’s not surprising that Apple earns 90% of the industry’s profits.
In addition, Apple still ranks first in the industry in terms of average selling price of mobile phones, reaching US$900 (approximately 6,517 yuan), while Samsung’s is US$336 (approximately 2,430 yuan).
The corresponding average selling prices of OPPO, Xiaomi, and vivo are US$257 (approximately 1,860 yuan), US$211 (approximately 1,530 yuan), and US$159 (approximately 1,151 yuan) respectively.
The report also showed that smartphone shipments increased in the first quarter as emerging markets continued to maintain strong momentum, while Europe, especially Central Europe, compared with the difficult period in the first quarter of 2023 and Eastern Europe had the fastest growth.
In the first quarter of 2024, global smartphone revenue increased by 7% year-on-year and reached an all-time high in the first quarter.
