【eNet硅谷动力消息】美国东部时间2月6日（北京时间2月7日）消息：开源数据库软件公司Ingres公司日前已经聘请了著名的财务分析师Tom Berquist出任其首席财务官一职，在此之前，这家新成立的公司已经聘请了一系列的著名专业人士担任公司高管。
Berquist目前是花旗集团（Citigroup）常务董事之一，跟踪负责包括数据库软件供应商甲骨文公司和微软公司等各软件公司的相关业务。之前，他曾经在Goldman Sachs公司 担任过常务董事，负责软件价值研究。
自从去年11月Ingres公司成为独立公司以来，公司已经采取了多项举措来增强其管理层，它在星期一宣布聘任Berquist是这些举措中的最新举措。Ingres公司在一月份的时候将数名甲骨文公司前高管人员招至麾下，其中包括Ingres公司新任首席通讯官James Finn。
以前以计算机联合国际公司闻名的CA公司将旗下部分资产出售给私人证券投资公司Garnett & Helfrich Capital公司从而将Ingres数据库公司剥离出来。CA公司已经决定将产品销售的主攻方向定在系统管理和安全方面。
业内公认Ingres资料库是一款技术成熟、性能稳定的企业数据库，目前大约有5000个客户。CA公司在将Ingres集团剥离出去之前将数据库转变成了开源软件。
Ingres公司的经营计划是只向客户收取技术支持服务费用，客户使用Ingres数据库不用再支付许可证费用。 它还公开了数据库的源代码并继续实施开源计划。
Berquist在采访中说：“Ingres公司将成为数据库市场上的生力军，企业软件经济的改革时机已经成熟了，客户们希望在其数据库投资中得到更多的回报，而Ingres公司适时地为他们提供了一种可信的替代物。”
去年，包括初创公司EnterpriseDB公司、Pervasive Software公司和Sun公司等许多公司都启动了开源数据库计划。据Evans Data公司称，目前应用最为广泛的开源数据库是MySQL。
