php editor Apple found that according to Farcaster data analysis, DEGEN has become the most frequent word in the application, and long-form content is more popular. This phenomenon has triggered in-depth thinking about users’ reading preferences. The high frequency of DEGEN usage may reflect users' preferences for certain topics or content, while the popularity of long-form content indicates users' increasing demand for in-depth information. These trends have important reference significance for content creators and application developers and deserve further research and discussion.

#Reactions from the last week at Farcaster

Cryptocurrency has always been a community-driven phenomenon. The community gives meaning to this industry - whether it is Bitcoin as a representative of hard assets, or NFT projects are considered to be the successors of important IPs globally, this is the result of the joint efforts of the community.

The communities that form around these assets come together around shared focal points of interest, creating vibrant, albeit ephemeral, ecosystems. Although fascinating, these formations often face inevitable difficulties, with interest shifting, engagement waning, and attention lost.

#The short attention span of these groups highlights a major challenge: how to sustain long-term engagement.

How does Farcaster keep people engaged?

#Farcaster has currently attracted more than 200,000 users. Interestingly, despite the hockey-stick growth this month due to the Frame craze, there hasn’t been a huge drop in the number of daily releases and user engagement. Unlike other cryptocurrency apps, which usually have profit as their main purpose (with users striving to pursue the next 10x or airdrop), Farcaster creates an unusual "atmosphere".

#I have a deep understanding of open source data publishing and quantification, and understand who is driving this atmosphere. Here are some of my favorite farcaster “personas”, along with some interesting statistics.

Asker

Nearly 38% of people who voted had asked a question online. These questions are not ordinary questions, but questions that often have profound meaning. Basically, users are interested in the opinions of others and invite them to engage in conversation. In terms of numbers: nearly 400,000 releases contain issues, which is about 6% of all releases!

##Featured Questions from /Philosophy Channel

The picture above is a selection of questions from the philosophy channel.

Replyers

In the spirit of replyguys, a whopping 64% of posts on Farcaster All are replies. When grouping users based on their number of replies, the majority of users appear to be among the multiple reply users (as shown in the image below), with some extreme reply users having replies in the thousands (after only a few weeks of activity).

#Long-form content is liked

We know that the publisher is an avid reader of books. It turns out that the entire web loves long-form writing in publishing, too. Data shows that post length is significantly correlated with user engagement: longer posts generally receive more likes and retweets. Although the typical character limit per post is about 320 characters, the data tells us that depth and detail resonate more with Farcaster’s audience.

#Tipper

Last week a friend and I decided to connect to Farcaster Hub’s live publishing stream. After running it for a while we realized that most of our screen was filled with $DEGEN.

##From Farcaster Hub to GRPC Subscribe to live feed#

By far the most used word on Farcaster is $DEGEN, with its primary use as a tipping currency (people can reply to a post with a number and $DEGEN to tip the poster ). While projects like Steemit do have the ability to pay nominal amounts for posts, tipping social media content has yet to be explored and successful on a large scale.

Some high-level statistics on this phenomenon:

Over 37,000 users have voted for $DEGEN at some point, with nearly 16% of votes containing "$DEGEN" included.

#Builder

Finally, let’s talk about the gorilla in the room. The launch of Frames and the frame-ification of NFT minting, applications, games, etc. unlocks a wealth of creative and interesting experiences for users and developers on the feed. Not only has there been a surge in posts with Frames this year (see below), but in 2024, Frame posts will account for nearly 22% of all likes on Farcaster.

Some key points

a) At this stage of growth, what keeps Farcaster engaged is a core culture of people generously sharing their questions, answers, likes, tips and ideas. Deep involvement > Shallow involvement.

#b) It’s great that the underlying protocol and its social graph are open and analyzable.

I'll probably dig into more of this data, including the changing channel landscape and how niche communities are starting to consolidate and grow.

The above is the detailed content of Farcaster data analysis: DEGEN has become the most frequent word in the app, and long-form content is more popular. For more information, please follow other related articles on the PHP Chinese website!
