Apple reversed seven consecutive quarters of being behind Samsung and regained its leading position, with shipments of 12.4 million units, a year-on-year increase of 1%.
Samsung ranked second, with shipments of 10.8 million units, a decrease of 12%.
Although Xiaomi’s sales fell 10% to 6 million units, it still maintained its third position, thanks to its strong momentum in Central and Eastern Europe.
Motorola and Honor ranked fourth and fifth respectively. Motorola's shipments were 2 million units, a year-on-year increase of 73%; while Honor's shipments were 1.1 million units, a year-on-year increase of 116%.
Canalys pointed out in the report that in the fourth quarter of 2023, the market share of high-end smartphones in Europe hit a record high, with nearly 40% of smartphones shipped priced at US$800 and above.
In the price segment above US$800, Apple’s market share is as high as 77%, far exceeding other competitors.
