February 28 news, today market research organization Counterpoint Research released a global smartphone infographic for the fourth quarter of 2023. Xiaomi’s shipments increased by as much as 23% year-on-year, ranking first in domestic mobile phones and third in the world.
Overall, in the fourth quarter of 2023, the global smartphone market grew by 7% year-on-year and 8% quarter-on-quarter, reaching 323.2 million units.
Among them, Apple’s shipments increased by 2% year-on-year, surpassing Samsung to become the top spot in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Samsung’s shipments fell by 9% year-on-year. It lost to Apple in the high-end market, Xiaomi and others in the mid-range market, and lost to Transsion in the entry-level market.
Despite this, Samsung still maintains its position as the world's top smartphone manufacturer, ranking second in the world with a market share of 16%.
Among the top five smartphone brands, Xiaomi had the fastest growth in the fourth quarter of 2023, with a year-on-year increase of 23% to 40.7 million units, ranking third with a market share of 13%.
Ranking fourth and fifth are vivo and OPPO respectively, with market shares of 7% each.
Honor achieved double-digit year-on-year growth of 27%, while Huawei achieved triple-digit growth and was the only top 10 manufacturer to achieve triple-digit growth.
