According to news on February 26, Qualcomm officially released the Snapdragon X80 5G modem.

It is reported that the peak download speed of Snapdragon X80 is 10Gbps, the theoretical upload speed can reach 3.5Gbps, and it supports 5G millimeter wave and sub-6GHz.

Not only that, the Snapdragon X80 integrates NB-NTN satellite communications into the 5G modem for the first time, which means that more satellite communications terminals will be available later this year.

More importantly, the Snapdragon X80 is the industry’s first 5G modem to combine AI and 5G Advanced, and it is also the first 5G modem to achieve downlink 6 carrier aggregation.

According to the official introduction, the Snapdragon X80 5G modem and radio frequency system architecture can provide readiness for 5G Advanced across multiple product segments, including smartphones, mobile broadband, PC, XR, Automotive, Industrial IoT, Private Network and Fixed Wireless Access.

Snapdragon X80 is currently sampling. As usual, Snapdragon 8 Gen4, which will be launched in the second half of this year, will integrate Snapdragon X80. Commercial terminals equipped with this platform are expected to be released in the second half of 2024.
