The latest 7-inch folding screen developed by Samsung successfully passed the strict MIL-STD 810G test of the U.S. Department of Defense and obtained approval. This achievement further consolidates Samsung's leading position in the global folding screen market.
The MIL-STD 810G standard has very strict requirements for equipment to maintain performance in extreme environments. Through the test of this standard, it can verify the stable working ability of Samsung's 7-inch folding screen under various harsh conditions.
According to the editor’s understanding, Samsung Display executives described in detail the rigorous testing process that this 7-inch panel went through. In the extreme cold test, the folding screen was sprayed with water at a low temperature of minus 10 degrees, and a 6 mm thick ice layer formed on the surface, which lasted for 4 hours. However, even under such extreme conditions, the folding screen can still work normally after being taken out. In addition, the panel also underwent alternating hot and cold tests and impact tests, working continuously for 2 hours in high-temperature environments of minus 32 degrees Celsius and 63 degrees Celsius respectively, and repeated such sudden temperature changes three times within 12 hours. In the impact test, the folding screen fell 26 times from a height of 1.22 meters, but the product still did not have any problems.
Cho Yong-Seok, head of Samsung’s marketing team, revealed that Samsung has submitted and registered approximately 1,800 foldable patents in the United States, which is four times more than other global competitors. This latest certification not only proves Samsung’s strength in folding screen technology, but also highlights the company’s significant advantages in competing with its competitors.
