Use the create and join team and channel options

Click Create and Join Teams and Channels at the top, then select Create Channel.

Click the drop-down list below to select a channel type, then select a channel type from Standard, Shared, and Private.

By using team name

Search for the team you want to create a channel for and click More Options>Add Channel.
