According to news from this site on February 7, AMD has been accused of "going back on its word" recently. After initially confirming that Ryzen 8000G APU supports ECC (error correction code) memory, it has now updated the Ryzen 8000G APU specification page to delete the description of supporting ECC memory. .
Users on Reddit first spotted support for ECC being removed from the 8000G APU's spec sheet, and AMD subsequently issued a clarifying statement to Tom's HARDWARE confirming its Ryzen 3 8300G, Ryzen 5 8500G, Ryzen 5 8600G and Ryzen 5 8700G APUs do not support ECC technology.
The ECC function is usually Exclusive to Ryzen Pro APUs such as the Ryzen Pro 3000G, 4000G and 5000G series. If AMD's Ryzen 8000G actually supports ECC-capable memory modules, it would be the first non-Pro APU to support the technology.
Even if you have a Ryzen Pro APU, you will need a compatible motherboard to use ECC memory with it.
