According to news on January 28, Samsung recently released the Galaxy S24 series of mobile phones. Samsung has confirmed that Galaxy AI will be available on some old devices.

This includes Galaxy S23 series (S23/S23 /S23 Ultra/S23 FE) mobile phones, Galaxy Tab S9 series (Tab S9/S9 /S9 Ultra) tablets and Galaxy Z Fold5/Flip5 folding mobile phones.

According to reports, Patrick Chomet, director of Samsung’s customer experience department, said that Galaxy AI will not be devolved to older models released before 2023, such as the Galaxy S22 series of phones.

Patrick Chomet explained that we want to ensure that, over time, our AI experience can be supported by (mobile device) performance, which requires CPU and GPU capabilities.

He also said, but we don’t know how intensively ordinary users will use AI, nor do we know how this intensity will affect device resources and cloud resources. First, we ensure the quality and performance of the features we deploy. Then we'll understand how people use these features and tune performance.

Previously, the head of Samsung Electronics’ MX department responded that Samsung does not plan to charge for Galaxy AI functions this year, but will focus on expanding users’ experience with AI functions.
