According to news from this site on January 24, based on the Linux kernel patch submitted by Intel, relevant information about the next-generation Xeon processor was once again confirmed.
Intel plans to release the "Sierra Forest" CPU before the end of 2024, which will be Intel's first Xeon processor fully equipped with E cores.
This site previously reported that Intel’s roadmap announced in March last year publicly mentioned “Sierra Forest” for the first time. In August last year, it was officially announced that it has up to 144 cores. Last year In September, it was announced again that the upper limit had been raised to 288.
In December last year, “Sierra Forest” appeared in the GeekBench benchmark library. Although its single-core performance was not good, its multi-threading results were outstanding and it should be able to complete tasks efficiently.
According to the latest patch notes, both "Sierra Forest" and "Grand Ridge" will use Crestmont-based cores.
Intel plans to launch "Clearwater Forest" in 2025. According to the patch content, the Xeon processor will use Atom Darkmont-based cores.
