According to the Intel PPT released by @元城安素-YuuKi_AnS, Intel is ready to provide I/O support for the next generation CPU platform. It is reported that the Arrow Lake desktop processor, expected to be released at the end of the year, will be equipped with a Thunderbolt 5 controller code-named "Barlow Ridge". This means users can expect faster data transfer speeds and improved connection performance. This technology from Intel will provide users with a better computing experience and a more efficient workflow.
Intel Arrow Lake-S desktop processors will provide PCIe Gen5 hardware support without the need to split between discrete PCIe and M.2 PCIe aisle.
In addition, the new generation CPU will provide 20 PCIe Gen5 lanes (Note from this site: GPU is x16, M.2 is x4) and some PCIe Gen4 lanes, including x4 for the next generation Barlow Ridge Thunderbolt 5 controller.
