Among them, thanks to the release of the iPhone 15 series, Apple’s Q4 shipment share reached 24%, and Samsung ranked second with 17%.

Since Apple usually releases new iPhones at the end of the third quarter of each year, its Q4 performance is often very strong, and its Q4 shipment share in 2022 will also reach 25%.

Samsung’s shipments in Q1, Q2 and Q3 in 2023 are all stronger than Apple’s, but Q4 lags too far behind Apple, which ultimately results in full-year shipments in 2023 being slightly lower than Apple’s.

This is also the first time since Canalys has tracked data that Apple has surpassed Samsung to become the manufacturer with the highest annual shipments. After rounding, the market share of both companies is 20%.
