In 2011, Steve Jobs launched the "My Photo Stream" service as part of iCloud, twelve years ago.


The My Photo Stream service automatically uploads photos and videos from one device to another, eliminating the need for manual synchronization. Although the service can only store 1,000 files and does not support full-resolution synchronization, it does not take up the free 5GB of iCloud storage space, which is very popular among users.


#For some unknown reason, Apple decided to discontinue the My Photo Stream service.


Apple says that starting on June 26, new photos will stop being uploaded to My Photo Stream from devices, and photos uploaded to the service before that date will Retains in iCloud for 30 days (from upload date) and is viewable on all devices with My Photo Stream enabled. After July 26, no photos will be retained in iCloud and the service will shut down.

In order to better synchronize photos between different devices for users, Apple has launched iCloud Photo Library (now called iCloud Photos) as a full-featured photo and video synchronization service. The only downside is that iCloud Photos requires a paid iCloud subscription to use more than the free 5GB of iCloud storage space.


The following is how to use iCloud Photos provided by Apple:


1: On iPhone, iPad or iPod touch Go to

Open a photo and click on the album;

Click on My Photo Stream> Select;

Click on the photo you want to save, then click the share button> Save the picture .


Two: On Mac

Open the Photos app, then open the My Photo Stream album;

Select what you want to save Any photos that are not currently in your photo library;

Drag them from the My Photo Stream album to your library.
