How to realize shared Internet access in WinXP system

First, ensure that "Customer A" can access resources on the LAN and share the Internet. Open the "Network and Dial-up Connections" option, right-click on the "Local Area Connection" connected to the LAN and select "Rename" to rename it "Local Area Connection - Host". Then, rename the other "Local Area Connection" to "Local Area Connection - Client". Next, use a twisted pair (two-machine direct connection) to directly connect the network card corresponding to "Local Connection-Customer" to the network card of "Customer B".

Next, set the network properties on the "Client B" machine, including specifying an unused IP address and computer name, and ensuring that other settings, such as subnet mask, default gateway, DNS server, workgroup and " Client A's machine has the same settings.

Now if "Customer A" and "Customer B" can access shared resources, half of the success has been achieved. Next, you need to use the "Bridge" function of Windows XP to connect to the "Local Connection-Host" ” and “Local Area Connection - Client”.

The so-called one-port shared Internet access here means that in the same LAN, two machines share a Hub or switch port to share the Internet access. Before Windows

Enter the "Network and Dial-up Connections" window on "Customer A", right-click on "Local Area Connection - Host", and click the "Bridge" command in the menu. The system begins to bridge the two connections. When bridging After success, open the "Network Bridge" property page and set all adapters to connect to the local network. Now open the IE browser and the "Client B" machine can also access the Internet. At this point, two machines share a Hub port in the LAN. Go online.

According to this method, if a new client is added to the LAN, another client in the LAN can be used to bridge the new client, and so on. If the "Client B" machine in the above method If clients can also be bridged, then it can be said that only one Hub is enough for the LAN. However, if there are many new clients, it is recommended to purchase another Hub in this case. Not only "bridging" needs to be added Network card.

XP Wireless Sharing Steps

Using a wireless network card to build a temporary network means turning on the point-to-point connection function of the wireless network card to form a small wireless LAN after simple settings of the wireless network card without using a wireless router. In this way, as long as one computer in the dormitory can access the Internet, other computers can share the Internet. At the same time, files can be transferred between the computers to facilitate users.

There are many ways to set up a wireless couplet network. The most convenient setting method is to achieve wireless interconnection through the wireless setting wizard that comes with Windows XP. The setting method is also very simple.

1. Computer host settings

When setting up, first use a computer as the host, and also ensure that this computer can access the Internet normally through "local connection" or "dial-up Internet access". Then we set up the computer accordingly.

First, open the "Network Connections" window in the "Control Panel". Right-click "Wireless Connections" here and select "View Available Wireless Networks" in the right-click menu.

Subsequently, click "Change Advanced Settings" on the right in the "Wireless Network Connection" dialog box that opens.

Open a "Wireless Network Connection" dialog box and switch to the "Wireless Network Configuration" interface.

In the "Wireless Network Connection Properties" interface, click the "Advanced" button in the lower right corner to open the "Advanced Options" interface, click "Only Computer to Computer" in the "Network to Access" option, and confirm and close the Wireless Network Connection dialog box. At this time the above settings take effect.

Then continue to open the "Wireless Network Connection" dialog box, on the "Wireless Network Configuration" page, click the "Add" button, the "Wireless Network Properties" pops up, enter a logo text in the "Service Settings Flag (SSID)" column , you can enter whatever you want. Confirm to exit after setting, so that the host setting is successful.

2. Set up other computers

After the host is set up, for other computers we only need to set the wireless network card to any mode of "any available network" or "computer to computer only" in the "Wireless Network Configuration" interface. No other operations are required. After the client is set up, right-click the wireless network icon in the taskbar and select "View available wireless networks".

Open the "Wireless Network Connection" window, and the wireless network card will search for the "SSID" identification just set. Click Connect here, so that the wireless network card can successfully connect to the host-side wireless network card.

Through the above settings, wireless interconnection has been set up successfully, so that users can share files within the wireless network.

3. Share Internet settings

Although the wireless network card couplet is successfully connected, other computers still cannot share the network through the wireless network card, because the host is now using a local connection to access the Internet. We need to set up the dial-up connection or local connection in the host to share it with another computer. to access the Internet via wireless network.

When setting up a shared connection, right-click the "Local Area Connection" icon in the "Network Connection" of the host, select "Properties", switch to the "Advanced" item in the properties dialog box that opens, and check here Check the "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection" checkbox, and then select "Wireless Network Connection" in the "Home Network Connection" menu. Then check the checkbox below. Just exit after the settings are completed, so that we can share the Internet on the client.

Tip: If the host uses a dial-up connection to access the Internet, we need to share the dial-up connection.

Okay, after passing the above settings, we can form a wireless LAN in the dormitory, so that students can directly access the Internet and share resources with each other.

xp wireless sharing network

Then enter the control panel, open the Network Installation Wizard, next step twice, select "This computer is directly connected to the Internet..." in the network connection method, next step, select the connection to the Internet, here I am Select local connection (this machine is connected to the internet through the router). Then click Next and select your dedicated connection to select the connection method with other machines. I chose wireless network connection here and did not select anything else. Just follow the prompts for the following steps. It is not a big problem. You need to restart the machine after that. This establishes a bridge between the broadband connection and the wireless connection, and data can be forwarded.

Click Local Area Connection Properties, select Shared Internet in Advanced, and confirm

Step 2: Configuration on the slave machine:

It’s very simple, just go to the control panel, open the network installation wizard, go to the next step twice, and select "This computer connects to the Internet through a gateway in a residential area or other computers on the network (M)" in the network connection method. Just follow the prompts and restart the machine.

If the wireless connection is on, you should be able to see the newly created wireless connection on the host (such as the internet) when checking the wireless network. It is enough for both machines to be connected, and the signal is very good. This allows you to access the Internet at the same time (the slave machine generally does not need to set its own high-definition IP, it can automatically obtain it).

If it doesn’t work, take a look

1. The wireless connection of the slave machine must be set to automatically obtain an IP address and DNS server.

2. Firewall settings on the host

3. Whether the host can access the Internet normally

4. Re-create the network bridge on the host. Generally there is no need to restart the machine. I often restart the machine and the slave machine cannot access the Internet. I create a network bridge on the host and it is ok

5. If you want to ping two machines, you must turn off the firewall, otherwise the ping will not work

6. If two laptops want to transfer data to each other and make sharing accessible, the firewall should be adjusted to the intermediate level.
