In the recently released Edge 111 stable version, Microsoft introduced a somewhat "obtrusive" Bing chat button in the sidebar. Microsoft does not provide a hidden option in the Edge browser settings. This article teaches you how to remove this button by modifying the registry.
Reminder: Since this modification involves the registry, it is strongly recommended that users make a backup before operating.
1. Open the Registry Editor. Use Win R to invoke the Run window and enter the regedit command; or search for regedit in the Start menu.
2. Visit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft location
3. Right-click the Microsoft folder and select "New"->" in the right-click menu Item"
4. Rename the item to "Edge"
5. Right-click the Edge folder and select "New"-""DWORD (32-bit)"
6. Rename the DWORD name to "HubsSidebarEnabled"
7. Double-click "HubsSidebarEnabled" and change the value to "0".
After completing the above registry modifications, open the Edge browser, visit the edge://policy page on the address bar, and click the "Reload Policies" button. The Bing chat button should no longer be displayed.
