Meta company launched a new generation of Meta x Ray-Ban smart glasses last month, equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chip, starting at US$299 (IT Home Note: The current price is about 2,186 yuan).
The overall appearance of the new Ray-Ban x Meta smart glasses is very much like sunglasses. The right side is equipped with a 12-megapixel camera that can take photos and record 1080P videos. The left side corresponds to an LED light to remind others that the video is being recorded.
The original Ray-Ban Storie smart glasses were equipped with 5 million pixels and could shoot up to 2592 x 1984 pixels; while the new glasses can shoot 3024 x 4032 pixels.
MediaTek has long been committed to developing low-power, high-performance SoCs. The focus of this cooperation with Meta is to jointly create customized chips specifically designed for AR smart glasses to meet the needs of lightweight and compact devices.
