告别 Windows 11 上的步骤记录器。Microsoft本月又扼杀了另一个功能

Microsoft is deprecating another useful feature. This time around, the Step Recorder on Windows 11 will no longer "receive further updates" in addition to the Tips app and three other features.

The change takes effect starting today, starting with the recently released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23590 for Dev Channel Insiders. The Redmond-based tech giant says it will soon tell Steps Recorder users via a banner notification that the tool has been deprecated.

“As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing and innovating the Windows experience,” in Microsoft’s own words.

You might confuse it with the Snipping Tool, but they work pretty much the same. It was previously called Problem Step Recorder or PSR in Windows 7.

The notification itself will also provide guidance on how to switch to other similar or better inbox tools available in Windows, such as Snipping Tool, Xbox Game Bar, or Microsoft Clipchamp.

In addition to this, Microsoft has also added a new option to completely disable Phone Link in Windows 11 and may introduce a new refresh button in the Wi-Fi list in Quick Settings.
