AI browser that simplifies business management: Microsoft Edge provides convenience for business users
Microsoft is making it easier for IT admins to manage Edge for Business by bringing Copilot to the Edge management service in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
The AI Assistant tool itself is now running in preview and will be officially released on December 1, and will then provide guidance to its users and educate administrators on recommended strategies and extensions.
The company further added on its 365 roadmap website that the feature will be rolled out globally starting in January next year, with a preview version starting this month.
"Microsoft Edge Management Services will provide administrators with controls to manage enterprise AI feature settings, including Copilot in Edge," the update reads.
Additionally, a new extension management feature is being developed to make it easier for administrators to approve users’ extension requests.
This feature will allow users to search for extensions within Edge add-ons and request access with a business reason.
The administrator can then act on the request by allowing or blocking the profile's extension. This will notify users of the decision and the details of the expansion.
