CEO of Rockstar parent company talks about AI: It will make NPC interactions in the game more interesting
At the Paley International Council Summit on November 7, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Rockstar parent company Take-Two, talked about the potential of generative artificial intelligence to improve interactions with NPCs.
"You're a playable character and you're interacting with a non-playable character. That interaction is currently scripted, and non-playable characters are generally not very interesting. If an AI is involved, you can imagine all the NPCs will all become very interesting."
Yesterday, Rockstar announced that it will release the first trailer of "GTA6" in early December, but Zelnick has not yet confirmed whether the game will incorporate generative AI.
"I can confirm that Rockstar is developing the next generation of the "GTA" series, and Rockstar offers more than just that."
