Atari announces new 1980 IP "Robot Wars: Recharge"
Earlier this year, Atari announced it had acquired the rights to Robot Wars, its sequel Rampage, and 10 other classic arcade games. Now, as part of the Atari Recharged classics return series, Berzerk: Recharged has been officially announced, and the game will be available on consoles and PC later this year.
Rewritten content: "Rampage" is an arcade game released in 1980. In this game, players control the protagonist from a top-down perspective and shoot groups of armed robots in an electrical maze. The final boss is the evil Otto, who jumps around the maze with a giant smiley face, hunting players down. Atari says Robot Wars: Recharge brings updated graphics, nimble twin-stick controls, and a new soundtrack composed by critically acclaimed Megan McDuffee
Like previous Atari Recharged classic returns, "Robot Wars: Recharge" also adds a cooperative mode and public leaderboards.
"Robot Wars: Recharge" will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC later this year.
