In iOS 17.1, which is currently in beta, Apple has added the ability for users to customize playlist artwork in Apple Music using a series of preset options. Read on to find out how it's done.

iOS 17.1:如何将自定义插图添加到 Apple Music 播放列表
Previously in iOS, when creating a custom playlist, you had to use a basic tile image consisting of the track's album artwork, or upload a custom image. Given that your custom graphics or related photos aren't always readily available for playlists, and the default tiled illustrations are relatively simple, playlists can be difficult to identify and look rather generic.

Thankfully, Apple in iOS 17.1 now offers eight different illustration styles for you to choose from, featuring geometric shapes and gradients, with the playlist’s title displayed in the upper left corner. The colors used in the artwork are chosen from the album artwork of any song in the playlist.

If you don't choose a custom artwork style for your playlist, the default artwork will be a tiled album artwork for the first four songs in the playlist, but you can choose to select one from your Photo Library or the Files app Select a custom image from .

The following steps show you how to use the new playlist artwork in iOS 17.1, expected to be released in <> February 2023.

  1. In the Music app, select the Library tab, then tap Playlists➝New Playlist.
  2. Name your playlist and add some tracks from your library.
  3. To create a playlist artwork, click the ellipsis (three dots) button in the upper right corner of the screen and select Edit from the drop-down menu.
  4. Swipe left to preview the available artwork options, then center the artwork you want to use.
  5. Tap "Done" to apply your artwork selections.
