Microsoft Edge is adding a new AI-powered feature that will automatically group tabs based on specific themes or categories, as announced during the Microsoft Surface 2023 event yesterday . It's called tab auto-grouping, and it will help you keep your browser window organized and find the tabs you're looking for more easily.
To use automatic tab grouping, just click the tab icon in the upper left corner of Edge and select "Group similar tabs." Edge will then use AI to group your tags into different groups, such as "Work," "Personal," "Shopping," and "News."
You can also customize group names and colors to suit your own preferences. The button to turn this feature on is in the upper left corner of the screen and is still in preview.
“It’s been an exciting year for Edge and Bing. We’ve been working hard to bring you a wealth of AI innovation to help you find, create, and achieve more than you imagined possible ," Microsoft said in its official blog announcement.
Additionally, we saw a few announcements here and there during the event. Copilot, Microsoft's highly anticipated AI assistant tool, will be officially released on September 26th, just in time for a slew of Windows updates that also include a new Paint app with layers and Cocreator AI.
