Vue3+TS+Vite development skills: how to develop widgets and plug-ins

Vue3 is the latest version of Vue.js. It introduces many new features and improvements, allowing developers to build flexible web applications more efficiently. In Vue3, TypeScript (TS) can be seamlessly integrated with Vue, providing us with powerful type checking capabilities. Vite is a lightweight, ES module-based development tool with fast cold start time and fast hot module updates. This article will introduce you how to use Vue3, TS and Vite for widget and plug-in development to make your application more modular and extensible.

First, we need to install Vue3 and Vite related dependencies. Open the command line tool, enter the root directory of the project, and execute the following command:

npm install vue@next
npm install -g create-vite

After the installation is complete, we can use Vite to quickly initialize a Vue3 project. Execute the following command:

create-vite my-app --template vue-ts

This will create a folder named my-app, which contains a template for a basic Vue3 project. Enter the my-app folder and execute the following command to start the project:

cd my-app
npm install
npm run dev

Now, we have successfully started a Vue3 project and can view the application in the browser.

Next, let us develop a widget to make our application more flexible. First, create a new folder in the src directory and name it widgets. Create a new Vue component in the widgets folder and name it HelloWorldWidget.vue.

In HelloWorldWidget.vue, we can define a simple HelloWorld widget:

<template>
  <div>
    <h1 id="Hello-World">Hello World!</h1>
    <p>{{ message }}</p>
  </div>
</template>

<script>
import { defineComponent } from 'vue'

export default defineComponent({
  name: 'HelloWorldWidget',
  props: {
    message: {
      type: String,
      required: true
    }
  }
})
</script>

Import and register the HelloWorldWidget component in main.ts:

import HelloWorldWidget from './widgets/HelloWorldWidget.vue'

createApp(App)
  .component('HelloWorldWidget', HelloWorldWidget)
  .mount('#app')

Run the application , we can use the HelloWorldWidget component in App.vue:

<template>
  <div id="app">
    <HelloWorldWidget message="Welcome to my app!" />
  </div>
</template>

In this way, we can easily develop and combine different widgets, thereby achieving a more flexible and reusable application structure.

In addition to widget development, we can also use Vue3, TS and Vite to develop plug-ins. Plugins are modular functionality used to extend Vue applications. Through plug-ins, we can add other functions to the application, such as data requests, state management, routing, etc.

Suppose we want to develop a plug-in called ApiPlugin to handle data requests. First, create a new folder plugins under src. Create a new TS module in the plugins folder and name it api.ts.

In api.ts, we can define a simple ApiPlugin plug-in:

import { App } from 'vue'

export default {
  install(app: App) {
    app.config.globalProperties.$api = {
      getData() {
        // 发送数据请求
      }
    }
  }
}

Import and install the ApiPlugin plug-in in main.ts:

import apiPlugin from './plugins/api'

createApp(App)
  .use(apiPlugin)
  .mount('#app')

Now, we can Access the $api object throughout the application and call the getData method to send data requests.

By using Vue3, TS and Vite for widget and plug-in development, we can make our applications more modular and extensible. With the help of Vue3's combined API, TS's type checking and Vite's rapid development features, we can build complex web applications more efficiently. I hope this article will be helpful to your Vue3 TS Vite development journey!

Vue.js improves user experience through multiple functions: 1. Responsive system realizes real-time data feedback; 2. Component development improves code reusability; 3. VueRouter provides smooth navigation; 4. Dynamic data binding and transition animation enhance interaction effect; 5. Error processing mechanism ensures user feedback; 6. Performance optimization and best practices improve application performance.

Vue.js: Defining Its Role in Web DevelopmentVue.js: Defining Its Role in Web DevelopmentApr 18, 2025 am 12:07 AM

Vue.js' role in web development is to act as a progressive JavaScript framework that simplifies the development process and improves efficiency. 1) It enables developers to focus on business logic through responsive data binding and component development. 2) The working principle of Vue.js relies on responsive systems and virtual DOM to optimize performance. 3) In actual projects, it is common practice to use Vuex to manage global state and optimize data responsiveness.

Vue.js is a progressive JavaScript framework released by You Yuxi in 2014 to build a user interface. Its core advantages include: 1. Responsive data binding, automatic update view of data changes; 2. Component development, the UI can be split into independent and reusable components.

Netflix's Frontend: Examples and Applications of React (or Vue)Netflix's Frontend: Examples and Applications of React (or Vue)Apr 16, 2025 am 12:08 AM

Netflix uses React as its front-end framework. 1) React's componentized development model and strong ecosystem are the main reasons why Netflix chose it. 2) Through componentization, Netflix splits complex interfaces into manageable chunks such as video players, recommendation lists and user comments. 3) React's virtual DOM and component life cycle optimizes rendering efficiency and user interaction management.

The Frontend Landscape: How Netflix Approached its ChoicesThe Frontend Landscape: How Netflix Approached its ChoicesApr 15, 2025 am 12:13 AM

Netflix's choice in front-end technology mainly focuses on three aspects: performance optimization, scalability and user experience. 1. Performance optimization: Netflix chose React as the main framework and developed tools such as SpeedCurve and Boomerang to monitor and optimize the user experience. 2. Scalability: They adopt a micro front-end architecture, splitting applications into independent modules, improving development efficiency and system scalability. 3. User experience: Netflix uses the Material-UI component library to continuously optimize the interface through A/B testing and user feedback to ensure consistency and aesthetics.

mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
